Data Card - Cohesion policy investments in museums
OpenCoesione dedicates a DataCard to the investments of cohesion policies on museums and similar institutions, financed by European structural funds and the national Development and Cohesion Fund, starting from the data linkage activity that led to data match of the operations of the focus "Culture" (updated to 30th June 2020) with the repository of the 4,908 museums, galleries, collections, archaeological areas and parks, monuments and monumental complexes (state and non-state) detected by Istat with reference to 2018. The results of the matching are: 1,195 projects - both infrastructural and intangible - for a cost of about 1.76 billion euros (equal respectively to 11% of the projects and 23% of the investments recorded in the field of Culture at the reference date). A total of 653 institutions are involved, 7 of which are the protagonists of the stories described in this Data Card.
Data Card - Biomass, At the School of OpenCohesion & AzzerCO2
On February 16, 2005, the Kyoto Protocol entered into force, the first global agreement to combat climate change. It was published in December 1997, as part of the 3rd meeting of the United Nations Conference of the Parties on the climate (UNFCCC) and became operational following the signature made by 55 countries. On the occasion of the anniversary, OpenCoesione is publishing a Data Card dedicated at highlighting the result of the partnership signed in November 2019 with AzzeroCO2, an organization that promotes environmental awareness campaigns, and focuses on several projects financed by cohesion policy and related to the energy production from biomass.
Data Card - “At the School of OpenCohesion”: European project
The 24th January is marked as International Education Day: the United Nations celebrates its key role in setting up the conditions for peace and sustainable development. In 2021 this Day takes place during the COVID-19 pandemic which has led to the closure of schools, universities, other learning institutions and programmes.OpenCoesione publishes a Data Card highlighting a response to the ongoing health emergency by the EU project At the School of OpenCohesion (ASOC): launched in 2013 in Italy, it involved over 30 thousand secondary school students from 6 European countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal) in civic monitoring activities on projects financed by cohesion policy.
Data Card - Cohesion policies and the mountains
December 11th is International Mountain Day, which the United Nations celebrate since 2003. On this occasion, OpenCoesione dedicates a Data Card to the interventions of cohesion policies in favour of mountain territories. These are projects that affect the whole country, from North to South, from the Alps to the Apennines, with a keen eye on the theme of biodiversity, the main theme of the International Mountain Day 2020.
Biodiversity at risk, because it is "threatened by climate change and overexploitation" (UN, 2020).
Focus is given to the projects of the National Internal Areas Strategy aimed at guarantee the access to essential services in the most marginal areas of the country.
Data Card - Cohesion policies and sustainable mobility
Within the scope of the 36th Annual Assembly of ANCI, set for 17-19 November, was announced the winner of the 4th edition of the Urban Award: Municipality of Parma. The award is aimed at encouraging the municipalities to invest in the future by supporting projects to promote cycling and other forms of sustainable mobility, being also one of the areas of action towards TO 4, Sustainable energy and the life quality of the PA 2014-2020. Specifically, 2,1 Bilions of Euro are dedicated to the sustainable mobility in the urban areas.
This Data Card will present 6 projects that highlight different types of operations, all financed by the cohesion policies and aimed at supporting the transition towards sustainable mobility.
Data Card - Cohesion Policies and Cinema
Due to the pandemic emergency caused by COVID-19, Italian cinemas are closed by the means of Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers (DPCM) dated 24 October 2020, in force until 24 Nov. 2020 (subject to further decisions). OpenCoesione publishes a DataCard to highlight cohesion policy projects related to new cinema and TV productions and operations financing the digitization of cinemas.
In particular was analysed the Sensi Contemporanei programme - which since 2000 has financed different actions for economic and social development through cinema in Abruzzo, Basilicata, Campania, Molise, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily - and in the 2014-2020 programming period is active in Tuscany, as well as the operations financing digitalization during the Programming period 2007-2013.
Data Card - Hydrogeological instability
On Tuesday 13th October is celebrated the United Nations International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, dedicated in 2020 to the theme of governance, and therefore to the ability of countries to prepare "strategies for reducing the risk of disasters at national and local level".
On this occasion, the OpenCoesione Data Card underlines the cohesion policies as a mean to contain and reduce the hydrogeological instability in Italy.
In the 2007-2013 and 2014-2020 programming periods, in particular, our country has promoted through the cohesion policy 7,250 interventions against instability, with a total public cost of 7.8 billion euros (payments amount to 3,5 billion euros, according to the data updated at 30th June 2020).
Data Card - At the School of OpenCohesion
On 12th August is celebrated International Youth Day, established by the United Nations in 1999. The theme chosen for the 2020 edition is "Youth Engagement for Global Action". On the occasion of this day the OpenCoesione dedicates a DataCard to "At the School of OpenCohesion" - the innovative educational programme aimed at promoting and developing principles of active and conscious citizenship in high schools, which accompanies students in research activities and civic monitoring of European and national funds.
Data Card - Slow Tourism
For years Italy is promoting forms of tourism capable of enhancing the landscape, artistic and cultural heritage spread throughout the national territory, and with the support of cohesion policies' funds. While the summer time is approaching, the idea is to present some of the projects financed by EU funds that concern cycling itineraries and paths, unusual and less-known routes, standing out of the traditional-commercial tourist routes.
This DataCard is dedicated to the curious traveler, aware of the importance of the environmental sustainability and tangible and intangible heritage.
Data Card - Renewable energy
EUSEW - the European Week dedicated to renewable energies is an initiative of the European Commission scheduled between 22 and 26 June. This year, also following the corona virus outbreak, the chosen theme is "Beyond the crisis: clean energy for green recovery and growth" dealing with the issue of overcoming the crisis, and how clean energy can be a tool for recovery and sustainable growth. The European Week is the reason for this Data Card, dedicated to OpenCoesione projects that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency.
