Running alongside the 2019 Giro d’Italia, the multi-stage bicycle race that has been held in Italy for over a century, Corsa Rosa della Coesione (a reference to the iconic pink jersey, the maglia rosa, worn by the race leader) will be following the race with a selection of projects executed at the various stops of the 21 stages of the Giro with the help of cohesion policy funding. From the start in Bologna today to the arrival in Verona on 2 June, a total of 70 projects in 12 regions have been selected, for a total cost of some €67 million.
