Il brevetto è relativo ad un termometro infrarossoa distanza, avente la particolarità di proiettarela temperatu-ra sulla fronte del paziente, con unsistema in grado di definire la distanza correttadalla fronte del paziente. Il termometro è provvistodi un lettore ottico in grado di leggere un codiceidentificativo e di conseguenza riconoscere unpaziente ed associare la misurazione al pazientestesso. Questa tipologia di termometro può es-sereutilizzata anche per uso veterinario.
