Il tratto stradale in questione rappresenta il raccordo fra la rotatoria sita all'estremità sud del tratto della SS 106 che fiancheggia l'aeroporto di Crotone e lo svincolo iniziale (Crotone Papanice) della futura tangenziale di Crotone.
