L'intervento prevede la realizzazione di una stazione intermodale (ferro treno, ferro tram, gomma) in adiacenza al binario ferroviario tranviario. L'intervento è a completamento dell'offerta di trasporto pubblico fornita nell'ambito della stazione San Gottardo, e consente la totale intermodalità ferro gomma (pubblica e privata).
