L'intervento attraversa il territorio a cavallo tra la Regione Toscana e la Regione Umbria e consente di completare la connessione della E78 in argomento con l'importate asse della E45 ¿Orte - Ravenna¿ (svincolo Selci Lama), per uno sviluppo complessivo di circa 12 km con adozione di una sezione stradale tipo B del DM 2001
