L'intervento è necessario per garantire le utenze idriche nelle zone terremotate a causa degli effetti del sisma sulle sorgenti appenniniche. Intervento individuato nel piano per l'emergenza idrica 2017 tra gli "interventi a medio e lungo termine" e la cui realizzazione consente di contrastare le crisi idriche ricorrenti nel nostro territorio dovuto al cambiamento climatico
