ASOC & Monithon members of the Policy Roundtable: Open Government for EU Recovery Spending

23/11/2021

The event is taking place online on 23rd November 2021, convened by the Open Government Partnership, and organized in cooperation with the Open Spending EU Coalition, that foresees interventions and involvement of representatives from EU institutions and member states, European and national civil society, media, think tanks, and academia to discuss why and how to embed open government values of transparency, accountability, and participation into the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) and national spending plans

The agenda structured in different sessions foresees the intervention of ASOC and Monithon starting at 13:30 o’clock within the session n. 3 entitled “What does ‘getting recovery right’ mean in practice?”  moderated by Carl Dolan, Deputy Director Open Society European Policy Institute.

In particular, ASOC and Monithon representatives will dedicate their intervention to illustrate the experiences and methodologies adopted for the civic monitoring in the framework of OpenCoesione initiative, as well as the models able to be transferred in the context of the Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) in order to support the monitoring of the cohesion funds.

The participation to the event is free of charge but it is requested the registration here

Interesting take away: As a useful source and basis for the roundtable brainstorming and discussion, the OGP published the working paper ‘Three ideas to open up EU Recovery and Resilience Facility spending’, containing ideas, guidance, recommendations, and examples from across the OGP community to show how EU member states could open up spending of recovery funds.
